A stranger’s story

Wednesday 18th of July 2018

The stranger sipped some water.

Papa rabbit helped him to drink more.

The stranger still looked tired.

However he started speaking.

“I am from Rocky Ridge village” he said softly.

Charlie had heard about it.

It’s supposed to be a hilly area with much rocks.

“My name is Elvis” the stranger introduced himself.

“There’s a big problem in our village” Elvis said with concern.

He paused and drank some water.

Then he looked down.

“Some outsiders are trying to blast our rocks” he informed.

“They would not listen to our protests” a distressed Elvis added.

“Who are these people?” an agitated Papa Rabbit inquired.

“Don’t know, they say they are from Red valley” Elvis replied.

“We are going from village to village seeking help” he continued.

“Don’t worry, we will help you” Papa promised.

“How can outsiders blast a village like that?” he told himself.

Elvis held both hands of Papa.

“Thank you so much” he said with a great sense of gratitude.

Elvis explained that he had been walking since morning.

He had gone to Papa’s grocery around noon.

However it had been closed.

“I would have gone home for lunch” Papa explained.

“I was so tired, so thought of resting here a little” Elvis clarified.

“But I had fallen asleep” he added.

“Let’s go to my house. You should eat something first” Papa offered.

Elvis looked at Papa thankfully.

Papa and Charlie helped Elvis walk towards their home.
