Stars-and-Planets new

Curly, the rabbit girl loved star gazing.

One day after dinner she ran to the garden.

The sky was full of stars.

Mama Rabbit followed her daughter.

Curly started singing nonstop.

“Twinkle twinkle little star......”

All of a sudden she stopped.

There was a big star that was not twinkling.

It was shining steady.

“Mama, that big star is not twinkling...” she said pointing at it.

Mama Rabbit looked at what Curly pointed out.

“That’s not a star, Curly!” she said.

“That’s Venus, the planet closest to earth” she explained.

Curly looked at Mama, surprised.

“Aren’t all of them stars?” she asked.

“Most are stars. Other than Venus, a few planets can be seen every now and then,” said Mama

Rabbit.

“Planets are closer to Earth than stars. So you can see their light steady” added Mama.

Curly thought for a while.

She had studied the planets in school.

However she did not know that she could see them in the sky.

Curly kept looking at the planet.

“Venus is also called the sister planet of Earth as it looks like Earth in many ways” said Mama

Rabbit.

Curly kept staring at Venus.

Her heart was filled with sisterly warmth.
